Anton advises on cross-border disputes and represents clients in international arbitration and state courts. He specialises in complex commercial disputes, including those with a significant international element.

He has substantial experience in banking and brokerage disputes, transport disputes and complex commercial conflicts arising out of contractual, financial and investment relationships. His practice includes representing major corporates and private clients in matters requiring in-depth analysis of applicable law, evidence and procedural strategy.

He regularly acts in matters involving foreign companies and assets, including issues relating to the recognition and enforcement of court judgments and arbitral awards.

International Arbitration and Interim Measures

  • Represented a client in international arbitration proceedings, including securing interim measures aimed at preserving assets and ensuring the enforceability of a future award
  • Enforcement of Judgments and Arbitral Awards
  • Advised on the enforcement of an arbitral award against a major mining company, including obtaining interim measures that prevented dissipation of assets
  • Advised on the recognition and enforcement of an arbitral award before the AIFC Court, applying international enforcement standards

Banking and Financial Disputes

  • Represented a major foreign bank in a dispute with guarantors under loan obligations, including analysis of a complex financing structure and development of a cross-border recovery strategy
  • Represented a major Kazakh broker in complex administrative and civil proceedings involving claims by the regulator and investors

Corporate Disputes

  • Advised on a complex corporate dispute involving a foreign investor, including matters relating to a forced share buyout and changes in management

Disputes with State Authorities

  • Defended a major industrial enterprise in disputes with a state authority concerning claims for environmental damages

Commercial Disputes

  • Represented a Swiss transport and logistics company in a dispute concerning the unlawful use of forwarding codes in international shipments

Commercial Disputes Involving the State

  • Represented a foreign state in complex disputes involving foreclosure on pledged assets and recovery of damages arising out of contractual obligations
